    In the 1904 Summer Olympics, one of the first times PEDS(Performance Enhancing Drugs) were used in 20th Century happened to be when runner Thomas Hicks collapsed on the track after digesting a mixture of heroin and coccaine before game to help his performance. This was a common practice for many athletes until coccaine and heroin only became used for prescription in the 1920s.
