    The Civil Rights Act ended the segregation in public places and banned the employment discrimination. This includes race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

    Diana v. California State Board
    Children were not able to understand the materials on the tests because of the language differences. The tests were given to the students in English which caused many students who had a language barrier received low scores. This caused a ripple effect with the students being placed in low academic classes.

    Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Citizens (PARC) v. Pennsylvania
    PARC sued the CommonWealth of Pennsylvania because of a law that denied education to students who were too much of a burden. This burden was about putting these students into the school and into the classroom environments. This case helped many children with mental disabilities to receive a public education.

    This act protects based on sex in education programs or activities especially those that receive Federal finance assistance. This act is not just based on women playing in sports but in education as well.

    In 1975 this organization was founded. This organization helps improve instructional practices for diverse students. It provides educators with more high-quality opportunities.
