History of Motocross

  • First race

    The races were called scrambles and they happen in the spring in Great Britain.

    Edison Dye also oped a accseser shop in the late 60s for motocross riders with gear for better protection.
  • 125cc class

    2 years after the 500cc and 250cc class were made they AMA added a 125cc class.
  • 4 Stroke engine

    The frist 4 stroke engine was made and used in racing.

    This was when the first championship was started and it held
    two classes and was 250cc and 500cc classes.

    This was the first indoor event it was at Daytona Motorspeedway in Daytona Florida

    Ricky Carmicael made a amazing caerrer and only person to make a 15 champioship carrer run.
  • Father of motocross inducted into motocross hall of fame

    Edison Dye is inducted into the motocross hall of fame.He was inducted for being the pioner who started motocross.
  • Red Bull Straight Rhythm

    This event was held to have riders race down a strait track that is 1/4 mile long that is in bracket style and 16 riders participate in the event.
  • Electric motorcycle

    The first electric motorcycle. The bike was produced by a company called Alta. They showcased it at red bull straight rhythm in 2016.
  • Present Day

    Today Bikes are much more advanced and they have much more technolagy than what they did when it frist started.The bikes can hold up more by hitting jumps as big as 120ft and having amazing ways to fight in races with races when it is pouring rain.
