Johnson had a very successful year at hockey considering the conditions which existed throughout the season.

There was some doubt whether there would be a Johnson Hockey team this year, as no coach could be found! As usual: Very little support was given hockey this year.

From 1933-1937 very little, if anything was mentioned about hockey. The country was still in war time mode and suffering great financial depression. Leading up to this period there was much comment on the lack of interest in hockey by students and staff, inadequate funds for equipment, no place to practice or play, and for a couple of years the Captain of the team was also the Coach of the team. They were plagued by players being made ineligible, bad weather and at one point only 5 team members
