Iraq invades Kuwait resulting in Persian Golf War
Iraq had the US's support up into this point in which the Iraq army invaded Kuwait starting the Persian Golf War. Now that the Iran-Iraq War was over and Iraq has choosen to continue war fronts with Kuwait, the US has finally lost support for Iraq under leader, Saddam Hussein. -
The Persian Golf War ends
The US and its allies including Iraq signed a cease fire officially ending the Persian Golf War. Saddam Hussein promises to destroy his weapons of mass destruction and allow the UN inspectors to inspect his biological weapons. -
Operation Desert Fox
After nogations with Saddam to allow an investigation of his weapons failed, Britan and the US put forward Operation Desert Fox. Operation Desert Fox was a series of airstrikes on various locations where Iraq had weapons. -
Iraq destroys its Al Samoud missiles
After final negotiations with Iraq and the UN, the Iraqi government releases a detailed report on its weapons. After a thorough investigation 11 other weapons on reported were located in Iraq. Al Samoud missiles were ordered to be destroyed by the UN. -
The US-Iraq War begins
President George W. Bush declared Saddam Hussein a part of the axis of evil and due to his weapon investigation issues the US decided to invade Iraq. The main objectives of this invasion was to bring fourth a stable government and take down Saddam Hussein from power. -
US captures Saddam
The US took over Baghdad resulting in the capture of Saddam Hussein and his future execution. From this point on the US would fight to reestablishing the Iraq government and building better relations in the future. -
The US withdraws completely from Iraq
The US-Iraq war was officialy over as the last troops were withdrawn from Iraq on December 18th 2011. Current relations with Iraq are not bad due to our close work with the erecting of their new government.
