Arnhem Conservatory
At the age of five, Audrey is sent to a boarding school in England called "Arnhem Conservatory". This is where Audrey begins to discover her passion for dancing and performing by taking ballet and theatre classes- even performing in several recitals for her classmates. She remained at Arnhem for most of her childhood before Nazis took over the city of Arnhem and Audrey and her mother were forced to flee and go into hiding. (Date approximate) -
Holland Liberation
On Audrey's sixteenth birthday, Holland is liberated from Nazi Germany by the Canadian Soldiers. Audrey's family had been so deprieved of food that she was only 90 pounds and was suffering from severe asthma, jaundice, anemia, and other diseases caused by malnutrition. When Holland was liberated, Audrey was able to get the medical attention she needed and was able to return to her passions in life- dancing and performing. -
The Secret People
Hepburn gets her first major supporting role in a film called "The Secret People", directed by Thorold Dickinson. This role allowed her to utilize her ballet skills and one dramatic scene draws on the memories of the Arnhem bombings, which Audrey and her family were victims of years before. This role gave Audrey some exposure in the Hollywood scene and she was offered her next role during production: Nous Irons A Monte Carlo. -

Audrey Hepburn gets a role in a British-French comedy directed by Jean Boyer and Lester Fuller called "Monte Carlo Baby". Audrey's character is a spoiled actress- a part she plays so well that the playwrite Colette choses her for a leading role in her musical, Gigi. -

Audrey Hepburn is chosen for the lead role in the musical "Gigi" despite her first script reading being "disappointing". She steadily continues to improve throughout the rehersal process and shows that she is willing to work hard and learn from others on the set. Gigi is a huge success but ends early so that Audrey can begin to work on her next project- "Roman Holiday". -
Roman Holiday
Audrey Hepburn is cast as Princess Ann in "Roman Holiday" alongside Gregory Peck. This film helped Audrey grow as an actress and when asked what she learned from the other cast members she replied "almost everything". She won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "Roman Holiday" in 1954. Roman Holiday became loved by critics and audiences everywhere. Sabrina
Audrey Hepburn got the part of Sabrina Fairchild in "Sabrina" directed by Billy Wilder. This part caused some conflict on the set between Audrey and her co-star, Humphrey Bogart after she was cast for the role over his wife, Lauren Bacall. Married to Mel Ferrer
Audrey and Mel met and fell in love while she was filming "Roman Holiday" despite him being twice-divorced, a father of four, and twelve years older. They got married in a civil cermony at Buoche, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. They spent their honeymoon in Rome for four days. It was shortly after returning home that they discovered Audrey was pregnant. Unfortunatly, this pregnancy ended in a miscarridge and both Audrey and Mel took time off to greive. -

Audrey Hepburn gave birth to her first child, Sean Ferrer on July 17, 1960. Sean would later become the founder of the Audrey Hepburn Children's Foundation shortly after his mother's death. Thid foundation is responsible for raising over $100,000,000 for UNICEF to date. He also became a patron of the Pseudomyxoma Survivor charity, dedicated to providing support to patients of the rare cancer she suffered from, pseudomyxoma peritonei. -
