how it all started

Film started with a 25,000 bet. The bet was at a horse race between a couple of guys . The bet was to see if the horse had all four legs off the ground at once , while running. They took continuous pictures of the horse . It look like moving pictures , And started everything.

peephole kinetoscope

The peephole kinetoscope was a a object that only one person could look thorugh. It had one "peephole " that you would pay to go look through. It had "moving pictures" which creathed short films. The inventor of this was Thomas Edison.

These were small theaters. They featured short dramatic skits , comdedy routines , singing and dancing.

The first film was a 20 long second video of a train coming toward the screen . The people who saw this video have never seen something like it before. When they showed the train everyone tried to get oyut of the theater as fast as thye could. causing some a broken leg or arm.
