Twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss and Mark Zuckerburgcame up with a plan of connecting the students of Harvard University through a social networking site which would now be known as Facebook today, Mark Zuckerberg allegedly decided to steal the idea away from them. Mark Zuckerberg was said to register the domain name thefacebook.com, where he would launch his own version of the university’s social networking site. -

Facebook starts to roll out its new facebook profile design called 'timeline'. Eventually this profile design will become permanent for all users until Facebook rolls out a new design. Originally made as a trial were you could volunatarily make a timeline, Facebook is started to make it mandatory for all users. Many users do not like the design and find it confusing. You also have 7-days to finialaze your timeline before it becomes public for everybody to see.
