    ANGLOSAJON PERIOD. Century VI—IX.

    In this period, literature goes back to its invasion of Celtic England around 450. The era ends in 1066 when France, under the rule of William, conquers England. I have oral literature. Much of the prose during this time was a translation from something else or from nature, legal, medical, or religious. Hymn of Caedmon: The first written texts were poems located in the 7th century.

    MEDIOEVO Century X-XV.

    As with the ancient period, many writings were religious in nature, however, from about 1350 onward, secular literature began to grow.
    Ecclesiastical copyists, many of them could not read or write, they only dedicated themselves to copying texts.
    The stories of King Arthur: They were written between the 12th-16th centuries. It was taken from oral legends.

    The printing press is introduced, the main themes of the works focus on humanism with the main currents that are:

    It was the golden age of English drama. (1558-1603).
    Shakespeare, English: (1564-1616) Some of his famous works were: Hamlet, Othello, Antony and Cleopatra.
    JACOBINA TIME. It is named after the reign of James I.
    The King James Bible (1611) is distributed.
    Francis Bacon, English: (1561-1626) pioneer of English prose.

    Religion was the axis where great events took place in Europe such as the second and third crusades.
    John Milton, English: Writes Paradise Lost (1667).
    John Dyden, English: (1631-1700) focuses on writing Satire plays, dramatic art.
    Thomas Otway, English: (1652-1685) Writes the Mourning Wife (1847)
    THE AUGUSTANT AGE. It is characterized by the development of travel literature, the population grows and the particular literacy in London.

    The Victorian novel and romanticism emerge.
    This period is named after the reign of Queen Victoria. He had strong disputes with the romantic period for being the most popular period. The progress of the essays and prose focused on many authors.

    Known as the most popular era of all literary times. It began with the beginnings of the French Revolution with the publication of the book Lyrical Ballado by William Worth.

With this period comes the end of slavery in underdeveloped countries, arises in most of the western countries. Covers narrative, verse, and drama, literary criticism also appeared in general.
