    Catherine Beecher made the Hartford Female Seminary, which was a private female school in Connecticut. She later went out to make more schools and become a writer. This is the start of the female lead in education and how important females are in the field.

    Horace became the secretary of the Massachusetts State Board of Education. He worked hard for funding of public schools and better training for teachers. This made people realize how important education was for kids.
