  In 1833 the first co-ed college was opened. At this time there were 44 students, which included 29 men and 15 women.

  In 1880 there was an act passed that required students to attend school till age of ten.

  In 1893 the age of requireing students to attend school till went up to 11.

  This was the Supreme Court case in which the justices ruled unanimously that racial segregation of children in public schools was unconstitutional. Link text
