Mostly rich people had their children go to school or have a tutor. Education was mostly for boys. There were two school types. Until 11 or 12 years old they would learn reading, writing, and math. Education in the Dark Ages
Majority of Europe did not have access to education. Children who attended school were privileged elite. Most schools were run by the church to maintain its authority and teachings. Formation of the Schools' Council
The Conservative Minister of Education, David Eccles, formed a group to oversee curriculum in different schools. Later this group would be called the Schools' Council.
