    The first public high school opens in Boston, Massachusetts

    The Boston school was the first publicly supported school in America established the the beginning of the 19th century.  It's mission was to provide free education and for everyone to be able to participate in democracy. The founders wanted to have literate voters.
    The fastest mode of travel back then was by river boat. That was the way people communicated. Unless you could communicate the only way to communicate was through the written word.  It was important that everyone knew how to read.

    In 1903 when Henry ford designed and installed the first assembly line Products needed to be put together step by step. Model T was the simplest way to harmoginize them.
    This was what the education system copied. The school system was built on the principles of standardization, centralization and control

    Point of light foundation 1989 was establish to go around and help. Help local people establish small businesses. A group of people did micro-enterprise development. The plant representated the principle of mass customization. The businesses that most effectively can engage in mass customization will be those that will become preeminent.
