History of CUW Men's Lacrosse

  • Men's Lacrosse is Added to Concordia University Wisconsin

    In the spring of 2011, Concordia University Wisconsin added a Men's Lacrosse program to their list of 14 varsity sports.
    The 2011 season was the Men's Lacrosse program's inaugural season. The team posted an 8-6 record and a 3-5 conference record.
    The team's first head coach was Jeff Roberts, who coached the team for three seasons.
  • Program's Best Season

    On Apr. 30, 2014, the CUW Men's lacrosse team concluded their best season as a program.
    In 2014, the program posted a 9-1 conference record to play into their 14-4 overall record.
    14 wins is the programs most wins in a single season and this program record still stands.
  • Michael Fahey Becomes Head Coach

    On May 4, 2014, Athletic Director, Rob Barnhill, promoted Michael Fahey to full time head coach.
    Fahey was serving as the team's interim head coach throughout the 2014 season and led the team to a program record 14-win season.
    Prior to 2014, Fahey was on the coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant coach.
  • Falcons Earn Top-10 Ranking

    During the 2015 season, the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Lacrosse team was ranked as the number 1 man-down defense in the country.
    Along with the top man-down defense in the nation, the falcons held other top-10 rankings in defensive categories, such as goals allowed.
    This season sparked a run of three consecutive seasons having a top-10 ranked defense. The defensive focus led to multiple seasons of 12-plus wins.
  • Lacrosse Team Plays in First Conference Championship Game

    On may 2, 2015, the Men's Lacrosse team competed in their first Midwest Lacrosse Conference(MLC) championship game.
    CUW played Aurora University at Aurora for the 2015 MLC title game. Aurora defeated CUW 14-11.
    These two teams would meet again two more times to play for a conference title.
  • Men's Lacrosse Wins First Conference Title

    In April 2017, the CUW Men's Lacrosse team won their first regular season conference championship.
    The Men's lacrosse team posted a 7-1 conference record in 2017 and defeated arch rivals, Aurora. The falcons' only conference loss was against Beloit earlier in the season.
    With a 7-1 record, the Men's Lacrosse team was able to win the regular season conference title and hold the number one seed for the conference tournament.
  • Men's Lacrosse Appears in Third Straight Championship Game

    In May, 2017, two rivals met again to play for the Midwest Lacrosse Conference title.
    CUW played Aurora University for the third consecutive season in the MLC championship game. Aurora came out victorious with a score of 14-6.
    This game was held at Fitting Field on the campus of CUW, the first conference championship game held at home for the Falcons.
  • Lacrosse Team Ends Season on High Note

    In 2018, the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Lacrosse team finished the regular season with a record of 12-5(7-1 MLC).
    In another successful season, Fahey and the falcons finished second in conference and will host the first round of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference at home against Benedictine.
    They aim to get back to the conference championship game and square off against Aurora once again.
