    Hewlett-Packard
    The "HP 200A Audio Oscillator" was invented by David Packard and Bill Hewlett in their garage in Palo Alto, California. Not only was it growing popular with engineers, This computer was used by Walt Disney in the production of "Fantasia"

  • Pilot ACE

    Pilot ACE
    Alan Turing (Great Britian) Built the Pilot ACE, in hopes to build a smaller, faster, and smarter computer. The PIlot ACE was recorded to be the fatest computer during this time era. This computer had 800 vaccum tubes, and took up a flor space of 12 ft.

  • TRADIC

    TRADIC
    The AT&T Bell Laboratories Launched it first computer, the TARDIC. Instead of using vaccum tubes, AT&T used around 800 transistors. Transistors were invented in the AT&T Bell Labs, causing computers to use 1/20 of the power used on computers with vaccum tubes.

  • DEC PDP-1

    DEC PDP-1
    Founded in Mid November, the DEC PDP-1 it sold for $120,00. This computer included a Cathode ray tube graphic display, meaning it needed no air conditioning to run, and could be operated by only one person. The company who made this, also went on to make the first computerized video game.

    DEC PDP-8
    The PDP-8 was the first commercialized minicomputer. It sold for 1/5 the price of a small IBM 360 Mainframe. Being so small, fast, and smart, this computer went on to being used in labs and classrooms across the nation.

    Kenbak-1
    The Kenbak-1 was the first personmal computer, selling for only $750. John V. Blankenbaker made the design for this, it uses switches for imput, and lights for output. In 1973, after selling only 40 models, Kenbak Company closed.

  • MITS Altair

    MITS Altair
    The MITS Altair was made by MITS company. Bill Gates and Paul Allen licensed BASIC as the software language used for the Altair. The computer came with 256 bytes of memory, and an open 100-line bus structure.

  • Apollo DN100

    Apollo DN100
    The DN100 offered much more power than a minicomputer, and was sold for a much lower price. Apollo Computer and Sun Microsystems made their machines to run the computer-intensive graphics programs that are often used in Engineering.

    Amiga 1000
    The Amiga 1000 can be used with the seiko music keyboard (shown in picture) It sold for $1,295, and DID NOT include the monitor. The inside of the case is engraved with the makers name, Jay Miner, and a pawprint of his dog.

    Iomega Zip Disk
    The origional Iomega Zip Disk allowed 100MB to be stored, on a cartridge 1/3 the size of a floppy disk, making this the new main way to store data.
