  • Flip Book

    Flip Book
    The li book was one of the most early forms of animation before film. It was made in 1868 by John Barnes Linnet. Flip books were used a lot by people at that time. Basically you draw pictures in the book and once your done you go back to the beginning and flip rapidly through the pages.

    Micky mouse was first created in 1928 and appeared in a short cartoon called Steamboat Wille. This cartoon film became really popular because of the use of synchronize sound. It also has the iconic scene with Mickey whistling on the boat while steering it which is now at the beginning of almost every Disney Movie.

    The introduction to color was a great improvement for animation. One type of coloring of animation was two strip color which was used by Walter Lantz and Bill Nolan. Technicolor was used by Walt Disney in 1930 with a cartoon series called silly symphonies.

    The television era was started back in the 1950s. Classic releases like The Flintstones and The Jetsons were just a couple of the most popular releases at that time. Cartoons on television started to get better in quality over time with better animation and better sound.

    Stop motion animation was made all the way back in the 1964. The release of Rudolph the red nose reindeer was the first major stop motion film. Stop motion is a type of animation that is made by clay characters and moving them frame by frame.

    The first CGI feature film was Toy Story with the 3D animation. CGI has been improving over time as well. Lots of films whether it be animation or not still use CGI. CGI are computer generated images which mean that they are made by hand

    Flash was the most used app on the web. It helped get noises and sounds from the web. It made the public be able to animate pretty freely. It made video possible on the web.

    From 2002 til now animation has improved tremendously. Animation studios like Disney, Disney Pixar, Nickelodeon, etc., have been supplying the animation market with great releases. Releases like Frozen , Monster Inc., and even Spongebob Squarepants.
