  • The Great Depression

    The Great Depression lasted about ten years. It began after the stock market crashed. Nearly 13 to 15 million Americans were unemployed. They all had many economic problems and suffered from lack of food and some even lost their homes.
  • World War II

    World War II, The Second World War, lasted from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945. This war involved more than 30 countries and had about 50 million military and civilian deaths. The spark to this war was when Adolf Hitler invaded Poland. The US didn't want to be a part of this war but got dragged in when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    On December 7, 1941, Japanese fighters on planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. The attack lasted about 2 hours and there were many deaths. More than 2,000 American soldiers and sailors died and 1,00 were wounded. Days after this, FDR delcared war on Japan and soon the US was also part of World War II.

  • 9/11 Attacks

    On September 9, 2001, Osama Bin Laden´s terrorist organization hijacked 4 airliners and carried out suicide attacks. Two of the planes were crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center In New York, another plane hit the Pentagon just outside the White House, and the fourth one crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
