    Beginning of Lewis & Clark Expedition
    The famous cross-continental journey by Lewis and Clark's party begins. The journey was created to map the Louisiana territory, recently purchased, and make it to the west coast. Many hardships were faced, but in the end, they made it back, along with loads on new information.

    The Alamo, a major battle in the Texas revolution, is started. It is a 13-day siege that leaves manny Mexican and American soldiers dead. Davy Crockett and James Bowie both died there.

    The Ratification of the 18th Amendment
    The 18th Amendment called for the ban of transporting, selling, and consuming of intoxicating liquors. This Amendment was the only one to every be repealed from the US Constitution. It was repealed on January 16th, 1919, and would take effect on January 17th, 1920.

    When the US constitution was created, it did not give women the same rights as men, such as voting. For 70 years, women fought for their deserved right to vote until finally, on August 18th, 1920, their hopes cam true, and the 19th Amendment was formed, giving women the right to vote.

    Black Tuesday was when the Stock Market crashed in 1929. It devastated the American Market. That was when cheap foods like TV dinners got popular.
  • Pearl Harbor Attacks

    Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese in 1941. This attack sunk american warships like the Arizona, Utah, and Oklahoma. The attack pushed the US into entering the war, adding a significant force to the Allies, who would eventually defeat the Axis Powers.

    On June 6th, 1944, otherwise known as D-Day, Allied troops attacked a 50-mile stretch of heavily fortified Nazi beaches at Normandy, France. This attack helped the Allies gain a strong grip in Nazi-held Europe, which effectively led to the end of the war.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech was first spoken during this pivotal time in american history.

    The gulf War started when the UN demanded that Iraq leave Kuwait. Saddam Hussein had previously invaded Kuwait to pay off debts he had obtained. When he refused to leave, Coalition forces that included the US, Britain, and Egypt attacked Iraq with swiftness and might. The war lasted a little over 200 days, with Iraq's 4 largest army in the world falling like flies.
