Leonidas a spartan ruler and 300 Spartans died fighting against 100,000 Persian fighters. 7000 Greeks came to battle the Persians, but because of there size everyone fled except for 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, and 400 Thebans. This battle saved Greece enough time to prepare to fight the Persians.
