  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

    Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
    Wolfgang and his sister Maria Anna were only two of seven children in the family to survive. At age three, Mozart was able to play a few chords on the harp. By four, he could play short pieces, and by five, he began composing his own work. The Magic Flute is one of his most famous compositions. In his later years, he had spouts of creativity but "black thoughts" clouded his mind. He sadly died on December 5, 1791 at the age of 35.
  • The Declaration of Indepedance

    The Declaration of Indepedance
    The Declaration of Independence was adopted by congress on July 4, 1776. The Deceleration of Independence is based off of the idea that everyone has rights that the government cannot take away. Thomas Jefferson was chose to compose it and John Hancock, the president of the Congress, was the first to sign it.
  • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark Journey West
    The Louisiana Territory had been unexplored up to this point in time. President Jefferson hired two men, Lewis and Clark, to map this land and document new plant and animal species. They traveled across the continent and back within two years. Th journey ended in 1805. The journey allowed people to move west and know what to expect.   • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    In 1803, Napoleon offered the entire Louisiana Territory to Thomas Jefferson who bought who bought it for $15 million. This doubled the size of America and made space for people to begin moving out west. This event is known as the Louisiana Purchase. Dallek, Robert, Jesus Garcia, Donna Ogle, and C. Frederick.   • The Texas War for Independence

    The Texas War for Independence
    Mexico would not allow Texas to become a self-governed state as was requested in 1833. The Texans were ready to rebel. In March of 1836, Sam Houston was placed in command of the Texas army. In February that year, there was an attack and many Texans died. Then in April, Texans advanced again and Santa Anna was forced to give Texas freedom. Dallek, Robert, Jesus Garcia, Donna Ogle, and C.   • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    The Attack on Fort Sumter
    Confederate troops attacked Fort Sumter, a federal outpost in Charleston, early in the morning on April 12, 1861, beginning the Civil war.
  • The Nutcracker

    The Nutcracker
    One of the most popular ballet's to be performed around Christmastime, The Nutcracker premiered in St. Petersburg a week before Christmas in 1892. Choreography by Lev Ivanov was danced to music by Tchaikovsky.
  • Walt Disney

    Walt Disney
    Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5th in Illinois. He and his brother Roy co-founded Walt Disney Productions. This became one of the most well known motion-picture companies in the world. He had a rough start but went on to win 22 Academy Awards. He also founded Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Micky Mouse was the beginning of his famous career in animation. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966 at the age of 65.
  • The Wizard of Oz

    The Wizard of Oz
    The Wizard of Oz, starring Judy Garland, was released on August 25, 1939. The famous red ruby slippers from the movie currently rest in the National Museum of American History.
  • The Supreme Case: Brown v. The Board of Education

    The Supreme Case: Brown v. The Board of Education
    On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court ruled that segregation in schools and other public places is illegal. This started with a little girl named Linda Brown who had to travel across town to attend school. Cases from Delaware, Kansas, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington D.C. came together to fight against segregation. This was called Brown v. The Board of Education.
  • The Death of Elvis

    The Death of Elvis
    Elvis Aaron Presley was an actor and American rock musician who was often referred to as "the King of Rock and Roll." Elvis had been emitted to the hospital on more than one occasion for prescription drug dependency. In 1977, he was again hospitalized and had to cancel some of his tour. That same year, he was found in his bathroom and rushed to the hospital where they pronounced him dead. He had died from a heart attack, which his heavy use of drugs did nothing to help. He died at the age of 42.
  • The Beginning of Harry Potter

    The Beginning of Harry Potter
    On November 14, 2001, the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was released. The book was first released in June of 1997. The author, J.K. Rowling, wrote seven original books and has recently released a play script for the The Cursed Child, which takes place 19 years after the original series. It is showing only in London currently. She has won over 40 awards for her work on various books in the series.
  • September 11, 2001

    September 11, 2001
    On September 11, 2001, four airplanes were hijacked and used to attack important places in New York City and Washington D.C. This attack was lead by Osama bin Laden. One plane was flown into each building of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing them to crash to the ground. Another airplane hit the Pentagon, and a fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Thousands of people were killed on the day commonly referred to as 9/11.

    Jordan, my brother, was born on January 13, 2002. He is about 16 months than me. Jordan is amazing with technology. He also has learned to play the drums. Jordan is my only sibling.

  • Joining Band

    Joining Band
    In 2012, I got my flute. I started playing in band that same year. I played in band, jazz band, honors band, and the Memorial Day band. I want to join the marching band in 9th grade. This is my fifth year playing the flute and I have had so much fun learning it these past few years.
