Treaty of Versailles
This Treaty was signed to bring an end to World War I. This treaty stated that Germany would take full responsibility for starting the war. Germany was obligated to pay billions upon billions of dollars towards damage and lives lost. This plunged the world into World War II. -

The Battle of Iwo Jima resulted in the capture of Iwo Jima, Japan. The battle lasted one month. It was the battles against the Japanese in which the US casualties exceeded the Japanese's. The battle was a victory for the United States. -

This Plan separated Palestine into a Jewish state and Arab state. The area of Jerusalem was supported by heavy security and pilgrimmage was regulated. war broke out and the Plan was never clear. Instability of the states continue to grow and the conflict is still unresolved. -
Execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg
Mr. and Mrs. Rosenberg were tried for Espoinage in one of the most famous cases in history. The Cold War brought on along extreme fear of communism, which helped convict this couple. They were both sent to jail, then later executed. Alleged accomplices were also jailed. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
The Bay of Pigs invasion was an unyielding attempt to remove Fidel Castro from power in Cuba. The United States supported Cuban Exiles to overthrow Castro. The invasion was proposed by Eisenhower and was followed through by John Kennedy. -
March on Washington
The March on Washington was a large rally in favor of the rights of African Americans inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Roughly 300,000 were in attendance. Dr. King said his famous "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial on this occasion. -
My Lai Massacre
The My Lai Massacre was an attack on South Vietnam by the United States soldiers. Civilians, mainly women, children, and the elderly, were raped, tortured, and killed in masses. They were unarmed. This incident was unecessary and caused many Americans to detest their veterans. -
Resignation of Nixon
Richard M. Nixon resigned due to his part in the Watergate scandal. He was the only president in United States history to resign. The Watergate scandal was when the Democratic National Committee headquarters, located in the Watergate complex, was broken into. The break-in was found to be linked to Nixon. He had hired these men and tried to cover it up. He recorded all his conversations, and this is what led to the realization. -
The Berlin Wall Falls
The wall was constructed to prevent emigration. It did, but it was inhumane. People were walled up. 100-200 of the thousands of people who attempted to esacape were killed. Finally, the wall was torn down bit by bit starting on Nov 9th.
