Reconstruction
This the time period after the Civil Car. Here, America is trying to become one again, and trying to rebuilding the damage. -
Industrial Revolution
A time of indusrty and the econmy increasing, many immagrants coming in, and new technologies being developed. Also, this was when the robber barons and industrialists came up. -
American Imperialism
The Spanish-American war happened during this time. we also helped with the construction of the Panama Canal, built the Great White Fleet, and acquired Hawaii. -
World War One
America declares war on germany on April 6, 1917 and joins the central allies. This war is a trench war so both sides aren't really able to fully defeat the other side. On on january 19, 1918 Woodrow Wilson makes speech to stop the war. War ends with the Treaty of Versalies in 1919. -
Prohibition/Roaring 20s
This was when the prohibition of alcholhol took place later following with Speakeasies, illegal clubs that serve alchohol. This was also when the economy was booming, Women's Sufferage took place, and the Harlem Renaissance occurred. -
The Great Depression and the New Deal
This occured after the stock market crashed and people withdrew their money from the bank and many banks failed leaving the U.S. in an economic slump leading up to WWII. The Hoover Dam was also built during this time. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japanese strategically bombs the U.S. naval base on Ohau in Hawaii. A total of 3,478 American service men were either killed or wounded. The next day Congrees declared war on Japan. -
World War Two
The U.S. is partnered with the allies against Axis of Evil. After Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, America is surprised. they enter the war and help win it for they allies and with this their econmy starts to boom again after they bomb japan and invade Germany to win the war. -
The Korean War
A war between North and South Korea where the Soviets were parnered up with the North and the Americans were partnered up with the South. Once the North invaded the South, the Americans joined in and so the the Soviets. -
The Cold War
There was never any actual fighting. But there were the the Capital powers of the U.S. and the Communist powers of Russia stocking the armies and the two countries competing for the space race. There was also the Domino theory that stated that if one state fell to Communism, the rest would follow. -
The Vietnam War
A war fought in Vietnam during the Cold War. This war, like many others during this time period, was fought over communism. The U.S. could not find a way to defeat the vietnamese so they had to pull their troops out. -
The Gulf War
Saddam Hussein, leader of Iraq at the time, invaded Kuwait and the U.S. try stop them. Kuwait had alot of the world's oil and the U.S. was preventing Saddam Hussein from getting to it. -
September 11,2001
Al Qaeda terrorists take control of two U.S. planes and crash them into the TWin World Trade Centers in New York. The U.S. finds out that Osama Bin Laden was in charge of that mission. 2996 Americans die. -
Operation Enduring Freedom
This was the Americans' response to 9/11. They Invaded Afganistan to locate terrorist camps. -
Invasion of Iraq
America invades Iraq. They try to get Iraq back on track.
