Free Education, gives everyone the opportunity to better regardless of wealth. By allowing everyone a free education the U.S. demonstrated its belief that all men where created equal. This equality is shown by guaranteeing everyone despite economic status. -
First Kindergarten in the U.S.A.
The creation of Kindergarten was innovative, it not only was something new from the time, but was also an ice breaker into the study of child development. As seen now education at a very young age is influential on later life. Education at a young age leads to a better adult life including being better off financially, having more self confidence, and less likely to be incarcerated. -
14th Admentment
Diversity is education, the 14th amendment guarantied equal access to education which was being denied because of race, prior to Brown vs. The Board of Education Tapeka, Kansas. The supreme court used the 14th amendment in their Brown ruling. Later court challenges would refer to Brown and the 14th amendment in gaining rights educationally for groups who had been discriminated against such as the LGBTQ+ community, and people with disabilities. -
Title Nine
Tile Nine gave women the right to equal opportunities to better themselves. Title Nine guaranteed that women would no longer be discriminated against for trying to obtain certain professions. This influenced women to fight for their rights and to be assertive as well as self- confident in knowing that if they put in the time and effort they will reap the rewards. -
No Child Left Behind
The No Child Left Behind Act, was set up to close the gap between children who where achieving and those who weren't. NCLB was designed to give parents the tools to monitor their children's education progress it gave schools the ability to focus on students in need. It shined light on schools that where failing, and punished them. This was revolutionary due to the fact that educational institutions where now being held accountable.The schools could be compared and progress could be monitored
