    (1760-1840) The transition era from an agrarian economy to an industrial, machinery-driven manufacturing process. This affected the country by increasing wealth, increased productivity, better living standards, better diets, and an increase in education.
  • Revolutionary War

    (1775-1783) The war between the thirteen colonies of the settling U.S and Great Britain over Parliament's taxation issues, as well as movement for independence. This affected the country because of its utter violence and dire need for independency, freedom, representation, and justice.
  • Suffrage Movement

    Suffrage Movement

    (1849-1920) A movement lead by women for women's rights. This movement fought for women's rights to vote, broader job opportunities, and political equality. This affected the country by allowing female citizens a right to vote for the leader of the country just as white men could, and began the struggle/movement for absolute equality for women.
  • California Gold Rush

    California Gold Rush

    (1858-1859) A large migration in the U.S from the East Coast to the West Coast in search for more job opportunities, riches in gold, and expansion of territory. This affected settlers by creating more job opportunities out west, as well as give people an expansion of land to build, produce, and live on. The gold found in California during this rush gave many people (both U.S settlers and immigrants) more riches to bring home.
  • Civil War

    (1861-1865) The war between the North and South of the U.S over legal possessions, slavery, and government powers. Southern states did not want the federal and central government to abolish slavery whereas the North had already established free-slave states. This created tension between the states of the U.S. This allowed millions of slaves freedom and liberation after the North won the war and unified the U.S once more.
  • World War I

    (1914-1918) This war was based around central power and Germany declaring war on Russia over territorial aims. This impacted the country with massive losses in soldiers, as well as naval ships. This war also affected the U.S by leaving it hyper-vigilant which led citizens to react with violence against those who were believed to be disloyal.
  • World War II

    World War II

    (1939-1945) A war that was produced from the fear of world domination of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi's from Germany who wiped many Jewish decent from the world, and taking territory of several other countries. This left American workforces changed the rate at which goods were being supported and produced with as many troops out fighting the way. This also opened opportunities for women to take the jobs their men left, and unemployment rates rose considerably.
  • Korean War

    (1950-1953) The war that formed with the separation of North and South Korea over communism. This created tension between both North and South Korea, and the Soviet Union with the U.S for the first time. This created ties with South Koreas as they were against communism and left the U.S with devastating effects.
  • Civil Rights Movement

    Civil Rights Movement

    (1954-1968) A movement that surfaced in the U.S that fought for African Americans the right to vote and be treated equally. The Civil Rights Movement was a long fight for racial equality and an ensured racial desegregation. This impacted U.S citizens by giving men and women of color the right to vote without any unlawful taxation or form of education.
  • Vietnam War

    (1955-1975) The war where the U.S funded and sent troops to South Vietnam for training since Vietnam's partition or split between communism and a democratic government system. This affected the U.S by severely damaging the U.S government and economy, as well as forced a cycle of inflation to pay for the war. This was also the cause for the breakout of the Hippie Movement centered around peace and love.
