  • Will's Birth

    The young and immaculate Will Kuiper is born out of the womb and into the world.
  • George W. Bush is Inaugurated

    George Bush is inaugurated as the 43rd president of the United States. Little did he know he would have to lead the nation out of one of its most tragic and shaking moments in US history in 9/11.
  • Allen Iverson Steps Back and Steps Over Ty Lue

    Allen Iverson shoots and hits a fadeaway over Tyronn Lue and steps over him afterwards. He and the 76ers are in the Finals. They did go on to lose but it has become one of the most iconic moments in NBA Finals history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grXws5m11SA
  • 9/11

    A horrible day in US history where terrorist Muslim bombers ran planes into the World Trade Center. This day is infamous for the way it impacted and traumatized the US as well as sparking the war on terrorism.
  • Start of War in the Middle East

    The US has been in war in the Middle East in Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. The wars in the Middle East have been against terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda. These wars have not ended yet as the war on terrorism has started to turn into this generation's Cold War.
  • Hurricane Katrina

    An awful day of US history, as a massive hurricane swept across the Gulf coast (most notably New Orleans) and killed thousands. It wrecked cities and lives as New Orleans has not fully recovered since.
  • Rosa Parks Dies

    Rosa Parks, a great civil rights activist and woman that sparked the Alabama bus boycott, dies. She was a great spark and leader in the Civil Rights movements of the 50s and 60s.
  • Obama is Inaugurated into the Presidency

    The first African American President, Barack Obama, in the history of the United States is inaugurated into office.
  • Osama bin Laden is Killed

    Terrorist leader of Al Qaeda who carried out the attacks of 9/11 is killed. He was killed to hopefully start to crumble the terrorist infrastructure of the Middle East.
  • Norma Kuiper, my Grandmother, Dies

    My grandmother, who I love very much, passes away after a long and tiring fight with cancer.
  • Will Receives his Driver's License

    An adolescent, newly-minted 16 year old Will arrives at the Secretary of State ready for his driver's license. He is joyful and ready for the challenges of operating the car he has received generously from his parents. He drives into school and parks at the lot for the first time alone.
  • Prince Dies

    Pop sensation since the 1980s, Prince captured the hearts of many. He was an icon and a superstar in all communities and ones of the faces of the previous generation.
  • Will's First Crash

    Will shifts his attention back to in front of him after ending a conversation with Ryan Dunn. He is making a simple U-turn in the FHC parking lot. He is cutting it close but believes he can make the full U-turn without hitting the car near him. He judges wrong. Will's car runs into another junior's car resulting in a large dent on Will's front bumper.
  • Caroline, Will's Sister, Graduates

    Will sits in his chair at Sunshine Church. Caroline, who Will loves very much, heads across the stage, down the stairs, and back to her seat while clutching her diploma under her right arm. He reflects on the great sixteen years the two had been siblings and what she has meant to him. As he thinks, a bitter-sweet feeling comes to mind. Although he is happy for her, he does not want Caroline to leave.
  • Muhammad Ali Dies

    One of the great legends in all of sports and boxing dies. Muhammad Ali was seen as an idol not only for his boxing prowess but also his charisma and willingness to take stances on certain topics. He served a suspension from boxing for his stance on the draft and the Vietnam War.
  • Will's Final APUSH Class

    This event is a personal thank you to you, Mr. Labenz. Thank you for being a great teacher in my sophomore year. You have taught me many values of hard work in my first AP class. You have attacked every day with enthusiasm, kindness, and humor. Thank you for showing me values that I can use and live with for the rest if my life. I am a better person and student for having you as a teacher and taking your class. Thanks again for a great year Mr. Labenz.
