    The Revolutionary War lasted for eight years! The war was lead by the country of Britain which was against The United States of America, France, Netherlands, and Spain. Great Britain wanted to tax Colonists. The Colonists didnt agree. Later on the Congress were considered traitors.Revolutinaries were considered Rebels but Spain, France, and the Deutch Republic secretly provide the Revolutionaries Weapons, and ammunition. The Americans ( thats us ) won the war. Great Britain lost.YAY USA!!!

  • The Decleration of Independence

    The Decleration of Independence
    On July 4th, 1776 the signing of the Decleration of Independence occured. America wanted to be independent states and not to be part of the British Empire and they wanted rights. The Declaration of Independence was signed by John Hancock, Button Gwinnett, Lyman Halled, Joseph Hewes, Geoge Walton, William Hooper, John Penn, Edward Rutledge, Thomas Heyward, Thomas Lynch, Ben Franklin ect. I think the signing was important because if they didnt we wouldnt have rights or freedom.
  • Galveston Hurricane

    on September 8th, 1900 a hurricane strick the beaches of Galveston with winds estimated at 145 mph. It was a category 4 storm. With a death toll estimated at 1,800 people. I think this was important because Galveston even built walls to prptect themselves later on it was that bad.
  • The San Fransisco Earthquake

    The San Fransisco Earthquake
    On Wednesday April 18th, 1906 at 5:12 A.M. an earthquake struck San Francisco,CA. Over 80% of San Fransisco was destroyed. Many fires broke out and lasted for days. Over 3,000 people died that morning. Remembered as one of the worst natural disasters ever. Other cities nearby such as San Jose, and Santa Rosa suffered damage. The magnitude was at a score of 7.9. It caused over $6.08 billion in Todays dollars. I think it was important becuase we should build more sturdy buildings.

    The Sinking of the RMS Titanic
    The Sinking of the RMS Titanic was a day America will never forget. The sinking occured on April 15, 1912. The Titanic was the largest Cruise Liner at the time. More than 1,500 people died that day. The titanic was at full speed when it made contact with the iceberg. The ship was unable to turn quickly enough resulting in a nasty blow. The passengers on the Cruise liner were killed either by the impact or Hypothermia. Only 705 people survived out of 2,227. We wont forget.

    Pearl Harbor
    On December 7th, 1941 a bombing took place at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The japanese atacked so they could stop the U.S. Paciffic Fleet from interfering with military actions.over 2,400 americans were killed. They also suceeded in sinking the USS Arizona Memorial. I think this important because we need better defences.

    The assasination of JFK
    On November 22nd, 1963 John F. Kenedy was assasinated in Dallas,TX. He was killed by Lee Oswald. John F. Kenedy ( JFK ) was one of our favorite presidents ever. The FBI tracked down Oswald who was killed by Jack Ruby. RIP John Fitzgerald Kenedy. I think this was important because we need better defences for our President.

    On July 11th 1969 Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were sent on a mission by N.A.S.A to land on the moon they were sucsessful. They were in Lunar Orbit for 15 hours. Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon when he stepped on the moon he said these words "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." he returned on July 20th 1969. I think this was important becuase we did something incredible being able to travel to the moon is an example of bravery.

    On September 9th 2001 four planes were hijacked by terrorists led by Osama Bin Laden. One of the four planes crashed into the Pentagon. The second one crashed into the fields because of the brave passengers who wouldnt let them crash the plane into the White House. The other two crashed into the famous Twin Towers. Many people were frightined. Nearly 3,000 people died on 9/11. Thats a day America will never forget. I think this important because we need to remember ehat happened on that day.
  • Osama Bin Ladens Death

    On May 2nd, 2011 Osama Bin Laden the Terrorist who lead 9/11 was found after he was in hiding for from 1998 to 2011 was assasinated by the Navy SEALS. He was the most wanted man in America. He had what was coming for him. I think this was important because he did something wrong and people that bad must be stopped!
