It was fought between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, there was eleven southern states that left the Union in 1860 and 1861 and formed their own country in order to protect the institution of slavery. It occured in the south eastern united states, because of the issue of slavery. -

The Great Depression was a worldwide economic depression that lasted 10 years. Its kickoff was “Black Thursday," October 24, 1929. Over the next four days, stock prices fell 23% in the stock market crash of 1929. However the Great Depression really started in August when the economy contracted.
