    letters to his wife: him and his crew left strait creek and whent to the top of the alleghany mountain. they started to hear cannons the next day that told them that it was time to start getting ready to fight. The they started to march down the mountain and they got about 4 miles down when they got told to stay there and wait. everything was clear so they moved along.
