    Henry's father was born in 1926 in Ireland. His familiy was origionally from western England, his family were imigrants. Henry's mother was born in Michigan, and her familiy were imigrants from Belgium

    Henry Ford was born
    Henry Ford was born on July 30th 1863 in Greenfield Township, Michigan. He was raised on a farm with his mother and father. During Henry's early years he repaired negbor's and friend's atches because his father gave him a poket watch when he was 15. By age 20 he was known as the watch repair man in his community.
  • Mother Died

    Mother Died
    In 1876 Henry's mother died and this devastated him, his father thought that Henry would take the familiy business and work on the farm but that was not the case. Henry later said " I never had any particular love for the farm-it was the mother on the farm I loved".
  • Apprentice

    Apprentice
    In 1879 Henry left the farm and went to Detroit to work as a machinest apprentice under a man named james, and then after that he worked as an apprentice with the Detroit dry dock.
  • Back Home

    Back Home
    Henry went back to his farm where he grew up to work. He became very good at operating a steam engine, he was later hired by Westinghouse company to service their steam engines.

    Henry married a woman named Clara Ala Bryant and he supported themselves by running a sawmill. In 1983 they had a child named Edsel Ford.
  • Engineer

    Henry bacame an engineer with the Edison illuminating company. In 1893 Henry was promoted to chief engineer and then had enough money to start experimenting with gasoline engines.
  • First Vehicle

    Henry completed the first self propelled vehicle and he named it the Ford Quadricycle. On June 4th he test drove it himself and he looked for ways to improve it.
  • Ford Motor Company Was Created

    The Model T was created. It was a very easy car to drive and it was very cheap, it was so cheap it was only about $21,00 in todays economy.
  • Assembly Line

    Henry introduced the moving assembly belts which created the assembly line which made production much quicker.
  • Model A

    Since people started to stop buying the model T Henry introduced the Ford Model A which was a big success.
  • Henry Died

    Henry died at the age of 83.
