  • The Birth of Henry Ford

    Henry Ford was born in Dearborn, Michigan. His mother and father lived on a farm near Dearborn. Michigan is located in the United States of America.
  • Ford Motor Company Founded

    Henry Ford wanted to produce and sell cars to the people of America. By founding the Ford Motor Company, his dream came true. Through the years he sold many cars like the Model T and Model A. He also made tractors. Owner of Ford Motor Company was passed down through the generations and still operates today.
  • Model T Created

    The Model T was Ford’s most successful car. During 1908 to 1927, more than half the cars in United States sold were Model T’s. The assembly line method helped reduce the time it took to produce an automobile. From 12½ hours to 1½ hours, the Model T could be produced very quickly. The price dropped from $850 to $290 over 16 years allowing the middle-class to afford the Model T.
  • Assembly Line Method Installed

    Henry Ford took the assembly line method to a whole new level. Using a system consisting of conveyer belts, gears and other mechanisms that brought the parts to the workers, Ford produced products in a smaller amount of time. With the Model T, he saved eleven hours. This was the first step towards mass production and more than 15 million Model T’s were produced.

    World War 1

    The main reason this war was formed was the fact that countries were worried about the German Empire that was rising in power. An assassination on an Austria royal by Serbia caused the war to break loose. There were over 10 million deaths and most of the fighting occurred on European soil. World War 1 ended on the 11/11/1918.

    Also known as the ‘Stock Market Crash’, the stock market took the heaviest blow in the United States. Being the biggest crash in United States history, this was the starting point for the decade long Great Depression that followed.

    World War 2

    There were many reasons as to why World War 2 broke loose but the main reason was the fact that Adolf Hitler, an anti-Semitic person, was executing Jews with a German army who were named, the Nazi’s. The war lasted for six years with widespread casualties. In the end, Hitler committed suicide and the Nazi’s were eradicated. World War 2 ended on the 2/9/1945.
  • Formation of United Nations

    The League of Nations was replaced by the United Nations. The United Nations strived to keep peace and balance in the world between the countries. They worked against wars, especially World War 2, and are made up of over 190 countries today. The headquarters of the United Nations is located in New York City.
  • The Death of Henry Ford

    Henry Ford died at the age of 83. The cause of this death was a brain haemorrhage.
  • First Spaceship

    Sputnik 1 was the name of the first spaceship to successfully enter space and orbit Earth. Although unmanned, it was a great achievement for mankind. Sputnik 1 was created by the Soviet Union although the United States were attempting the same thing in that period of time.
  • First Manned Spaceship

    Yuri Gagarin was the first human to enter space in a spaceship. He returned safely and was up there for a duration of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. Yuri orbited the Earth although he wasn’t actually controlling the spaceship.
  • The Berlin Wall

    Just past midnight, while everybody was asleep, the Soviet Union erected a massive wall made from barbwire with stone towers at regular intervals between East Germany and West Berlin. Later, the wall was upgraded with steel doors/framing. The purpose of this wall was to prevent people from East Germany fleeing to West Berlin. The Berlin Wall lasted for 28 years until, on the 9th November 1989, the wall was pulled down.
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11 lands on the moon with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin. It was the first time anyone in history had walked on the moon. Neil and Edwin’s accomplishment was shown around the world.
