Helmuth was born on January 8th, 1925, in Hamburg, Germany.

In 1935, the Nazis ban the boy scout program, which Helmuth was part of. Since it was banned, he was forced to join the Hitler Youth.

WW2 started on September 1, 1939, and ended September 2, 1945.

On February 5th, 1942, Helmuth was arrested by the Gestapo. Him and his friends promised not to rat each other out, so he took the blame for it.

Helmuth's trial was on August 11th, 1942. The judges decided he would receive the death penalty. Helmuth said "Now I must die, even though I have committed no crime. So now it's my turn, but your turn will come."

Helmuth was executed on October 27th, 1942. The nazis beheaded him with a guillotine. He said, “I am very grateful to my Heavenly Father that my miserable life will come to an end tonight–I could not bear it any longer anyway. I know that God lives and He will be the Just Judge in this matter. My Heavenly Father knows that I have done nothing wrong….I look forward to seeing you in a better world!”
