On April 4th, 1979, a baby was born in the St.John Of God Hospital in Subiaco, an inner city within Perth, Australia. Heath was the second child of Kim and Sally. Next to his older sister, Kate. -
Start of Acting Career
At 12 years old, Heath had acted in many major school shows. In the same year, Barron Films formed and Heath got into acting with this Production Company. He acted in children films such as "Clowning Around" which was a four hour tv show. -

Joining Barron Films
Heath joined acting in this small production company at 12 years old. The young Australian actor proved to be amazing at what he did. Although, he stopped acting with this production when he turned 17 and left for Sydney, Australia with his friend. -
School Plays
Heath appeared in many school plays since he was a great actor. He appeared in the school Plays such as "Peter Pan". After Peter Pan, he appeared in every major school production after that. -
Mature Acting
Two years later, Heath got into more roles. He acted in films such as " Ship to Shore", "Royal Hunt of the Sun", and "Sweat". These films were still a Barron FIlm's production, but it was more mature. As Heath grew older, he wanted to get involved with more serious roles. So he took on the role as a gay cyclist in "Sweat" where he kissed a boy. -
Follow Your Dreams
At 17 years old, Heath left home for Sydney, Australia. He would then apply to school and follow his dreams.
Heath applied to The National Institute of Dramatic Arts, but feared he wouldn't have freedom of acting the way he wanted. -
The last of the Barron Films
Since he left Perth, Australia, Heath had left his family behind as well as Barron Films. He appeared in "Blackrock", "Paws". and "Bush Control". And also dropped out of school. -
Serious Buisness
After acting in "10 Things I hate About You", Heath stopped acting in films that were for teens or had a crappy script. He acted in bigger films such as "The Patriot" and "Knights Tale". By this time, he had moved from Australia into the States, -
Celebrity Status
As Heath acted in bigger film productions, his celebrity status flew. Heath became very popular and was offered the roles in '007' and 'Spiderman'. Although Heath's dream was to become an actor, he was scared. He noticed how fame changed people and locked himself in the bathroom. Saying he "Feels like a whore, not an actor." because of how paparrazi's are constantly at him. -

In 2001 - 2002, Heath had acted in "Four Feathers". Although this film didn't do well, it turned out to be a flop. But Heath doesn't care, he just loves acting. "I generally don't give a fuck what people think" he said, responding to the question if he was proud of the film and what he thought about the verdict on the critics.
He also had acted in "Monster's Ball" and "The Sin Eater". -
A Very Dramatic Change
In 2004 - 2005, Heath Ledger landed the role of Ennis in Broke Back Mountain. This movie, directed by Ang Lee, was a big hit and very different from what you'd see now. It was a very dramatic and big change from what Heath was use to acting out, but he wanted the challenge.
Also, Heath was known for dating older women who ranged up to 12 years older than him. Another big change for him was meeting his future lover, Michelle Williams on set. -
The Birth of Matilda
On October 28th, 2005, Matilda Ledger was born to parents Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger. Michelle picked the name which is an Austrlian name.
Now with a child, Heath and Michelle were very cautious and careful not to get Matilda photographed by a bunch of paparazzi. -
More Acting / 2
2005 - 2006, Heath acted in "Casanova" and "Candy". After finishing the film of Broke Back Mountain which grossed 83 million, he went right into filming Casanova. Which he considered to be a holiday compared to the previous film. -
Old Habits Die Hard
As a new father, Heath wasn't nervous or stressed, he loved being a father. He enjoyed every minute of it. Although, whenever he could, Heath still used drugs. His family was awfully worried about him, but he insisted he was fine. -
The Split
Although Heath and Michelle have a child together, they are not married. Though, it seemed as if they were. Michelle stuck with Heath, and supported him. But when his constant drug use continued, she threatened to leave him. This didn't stop, so in the end they officially split in August 2007. -
Death
On January 22nd, 2008, Heath Ledger over doses at his home. He was found by his Massuse Dana Wolozin and Cleaning lady. The man who blew everyone away with his role as the Joker, was announced dead at 3:36pm... -
The Show Must Go On
When Heath was announced dead in his loft, director Terry Gilliam was stuck. He was close with Heath, and his death put him in a rut. The were about half way done filming "The Imaginarium of Dr,Parnassus" when Heath overdosed. So he got Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Collin Farrell to act out of the rest of his scenes in a clever way.
