  • beginning of the first industrial revolution

    The Industrial Revolution started in Britain and occurred in the late 18th century. The revolution caused a spike in population which made cities dirty and filled with millions. This caused a growth in factories and was highly influenced by new developments in machinery. More and more jobs became available which increased population rates and sickness. this revolution spread to all parts of the world and influenced the majority of the world. developments in machinery happened within revolution.
  • end of the Napoleonic wars

    The Napoleonic wars began in 1803 and ended in 1815 (12 years). This significantly impacted the whole world and continued the wars of the French revolution. The Napoleonic were significant because they were the turning point for Europe and majorly impacted the French revolution. The Napoleonic wars effected trade in most of the world and was a stepping stone for the economy for the America. As a result of the wars various aspects of trade changed and the entire world was effected.
  • the first Europeans to arrive at adventure bay

    In 1824, governor Anthony Van Diemen arrived at Tasmania (formally known as van Diemen's land). the war started because of the clash of aboriginal and European lifestyles, This was the start of what is called 'The Black War'. The war took the lives of more than 200 Europeans and between 600 to 900 aboriginal lives. The war lasted until 1832 (12 years). The war mark the European take over of Van Diemen's land. Many aboriginal men were killed and woman were kidnapped, killed and sexual assaulted.
  • ideologies- Darwinism

    social Darwinism (survival of the fittest) was created in the 1800s but became acceptable in 1859. This was created by Charles Darwin and was used to justify social, economic and political perspectives by using the theory that humans evolved from apes. This belief effect to modern world today because it created the idea of people being better than other because of certain aspects of themselves. This theory has been used to justify thing like racism. This majorly effect the world we know today
  • Ned Kelly

    Ned Kelly was a Australian bush ranger and the leader of the infamous Ned Kelly gang. He killed multiple police officers and robbed banks. Kelly contestability has been challenged by various sources. This is because he was a criminal and a unlawful man. even though, he has been called a 'Australian robin hood' but some historians and other members of the public believe he was a horrible and sinister man. Kelly's side of the story has been told, not everyone involved were able to tell theirs.
  • boxer rebellion

    The boxer rebellion started on the 2nd of November 1899 and ended on the 7th of September 1901. The rebellion was a war against foreigners that settled in china. Approximately 100,000 people died in this war which had a major impact on the whole of china. This was a depressing time for china. Many lives were lost so families were left with no sons, fathers and brothers. It is easy to empathises with the involved because they lost the ones they loved and it was a very, very violent time.
  • battle of Beersheba

    The battle of Beersheba occurred on the 31st of October 1917. In this war there were 171 men killed, 31 of them were light horsemen. The light horse men were a group of Australian men who rode horses into war. Their relationship with their horses were strengthen by the battle. This is shown by how they treated their horses in war and how well they looked after them. At the end of the war the government would not let the troupes keep them so some of soldiers shot them so they could die in peace.
