The glass in the snake enclosure disappears and the snake is released. Dudley gets trapped inside and Harry is blamed for it.

Hagrid finds Harry at the Hut on the Rock and gives him is Hogwarts letter. He tells Harry that he is a wizard.

Harry arrives at King's Cross station and does not know where to go. He meets the Weasley family, who show him how to get onto the platform. He becomes friends with Ron.

Harry arrives at Hogwarts and journeys to the castle with his new classmates. Harry tries on the Sorting Hat. It wants to place him in Slytherin, but he doesn't want to be in the house. It ends up placing him in Gryffindor.

A troll is let into the castle on Halloween. Harry and Ron stop the troll from killing Hermione, who is stuck in the bathroom with the troll. The end up becoming friends after this incident.

Harry decides to go exploring with his new Invisibility Cloak. He stumbles upon the Mirror of Erised. He sees his parents in it. He shows it to Ron, who sees himself becoming Head Boy.

Harry, Hermione, Neville, and Draco have detention in the Forbidden Forest. Harry and Draco find Voldemort in the forest, drinking the blood of a unicorn. He tries to attack them but Firenze, the centaur, rescues them.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione go to rescue to Sorcerer's Stone from Snape, who they believe will steal it for Voldemort. The encounter Fluffy, the three-headed dog. They must pass several obstacles. Only Harry is able to go on to the next obstacle.

Harry enters the last obstacle. He is shocked to see Quirrell there instead of Snape. Voldemort appears on the back of Quirrell's head. He tries to use Harry to get the stone. Harry is able to get it, but doesn't give it to Voldemort. Voldemort tries to kill Harry, but is destroyed when he tries to touch him.

Harry wakes up after his encounter with Voldemort. It is the last week of school. Slytherin is in the lead for the house cup. Dumbledore awards some last minute points due to the events that happened trying to get the Sorcerer's Stone. Gryffindor takes the lead and the House Cup.

Harry, Ron and Hermione arrive at Hogsmeade to catch the train back home. Hagrid gives Harry a photo album of his parents. Harry is sad to be leaving the one place that he can call home, but he knows that the summer won't be too bad, since the Dursley's don't know that he can't use magic outside of school.
