Aunt Marge makes very degrading marks about Harry's mother, this causes him to lose control over his magic. Basically Aunt Marge blows up Like a balloon.

Left with nowhere to go he inadvertently calls for the Night Bus ( A magical transportation method.) A big black dog melts out of the shadows, a bad omen related to death.

Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, Board the Hogwarts Express. A magical train that takes students to and from the castle. On the way a group of dementors, demonic beings who feed on the happiness of human beings, invade the train searching for serious black. Their presence took a big toll on Harry.

In the middle of a Quittich match the black dog appears again. Shortly after, A huge mob of dementors enters the Arena and Harry loses conscious. Later he learns that he fell off his broom and it was destroyed.

Fred and George Weasley give Harry a map that can see everyone in the castle at any time. This map also contains the locations of the four secret passages leading out of the castle.

Harry uses the Marauders map to get out of Hogwarts and into the neighboring village of hogsmeade. While there he overhears a conversation about Sirius Black. He learns that Sirius Black caused the killing of Lilly and James Potter, his parents, and will try to kill him too.

Harry stays at Hogwarts over the holidays to ensure his safety from Sirius Black. On Christmas morning Harry receives a Firebolt., the greatest broom ever made, without any tag saying who its from. Fearing that the broom was sent by Sirius Black, the head of gryffindor, Professor Mcgonagall doesn't allow him to use his new broom until it had been checked for curses.

Harry starts learning how to defend himself against a Dementor. Professor Lupin, his teacher, doesn't have high expectation for Harry on his first try. Harry produces a very small patronus against a boggart. ( A magical creature that can transform into your greatest fear)

The Ministry of Magic have given permission for the dementors to perform the kiss on Sirius Black if caught, sucking out his soul.

A Quittich match against Ravenclaw will decide if Griffindor can compete for the Quittich Cup. During the match three dementors are spotted in the stands. This time prepared Harry unleashes a full fledged patronus and it turns out that the dementors were just students of the Slytherin house under some black robes trying to scare Harry.

The night of the Ravenclaw match Ron wakes up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. He claimed that he saw Sirius Black standing over him with a knife and his claims were justified by slashed curtains next to his bed.

Harry and Ron are asked to go visit Hagrid the gamekeeper, a long time friend of theirs. When they arrive Hagrid lectures them about not talking to Hermione. He tells them that he thought they would know that friends are more important than broomsticks and rats.

Another visit to Hogsmeade comes around, Harry decides with the rest of the class via the secret passage and his invisibility cloak. While there he decides to go to the Shrieking Shack with Ron. Ron gets taunted from Malfoy. Worried, Harry throws mud at Malfoy and ,to Ron and Harry's amusement, his invisibility cloak falls off and his floating head is revealed.

Harry races back to the castle, but Malfoy reached it first and alerted Snape, the headmaster of Slytherin. Just before getting caught Harry stashes the Cloak in the secret passage. When he emerges he is caught by Snape and he insults Harry and his parents. Harry is fit with rage and tells Snape to shut up.

Hermione misses a Charms class which is very unlike her. While Harry is gazing into a crystal ball in divination, She enters late. Professor Trewlaney sees a grim, the big black dog, in Harry's ball.

Griffindor is playing Slytherin for the Quittich Cup, but has two win by at least 200 points. The night before the game, wakes up and looks out the window to see another grim, but before he can show Ron it disappeared.

As the match begins, there are many fouls, but they are no match for Harry on his firebolt. As the match continues Harry catches the Snitch he feels like he can conjure up the biggest Patronus.

Everyone is prepared for finals. When they finally role around, Harry does very well on them recieving full marks on his Defense of Dark Arts.

While taking his final in divination, Professor Treylawny's voice changes and she spouts a prophecy about Voldemort, the main antagnast, rejoining them before midnight. After she either doesn't remember or acts like she doesn't .

Ron's rat scabbers, has a fit and jumps from his pocket. While chasing the rat, Harry, Ron, and Hermione run straight into a big black dog. The dog pulls him into a passage under an ancient tree. He broke Ron's leg in the proccess

Professor Lupin followed them using the Marauders Map, he said that he saw the three of them walking towards the grounds. The map told him that Peter Pettigrew, another animagus, who was also dead, was with them in the form of scabbers, Ron's rat.

The passage leads them to the Shrieking Shack, where the dog turns out to be an animagus(shapeshifter). This dog is Sirius Black. Harry overpowers Sirius and he admits that he is responsible for the death of Harry's parents.

Professor Lupin convinces them to hear Black's side of the story, saying that it was Peter, and not him that told Voldemort where Lily and James Potter were hiding. But he was responsible because he told Dumbledore that he should not be the secret keeper because he would most likely be sought out by the death-eaters

Professor Lupin tells his story, including that he is a werewolf. Just as he is telling everyone why Snape has such a hatred for Harry. Snape himself enters using the invisibility cloak Harry left at the entrance to the passage. But Harry, Ron, and Hermione stun him so that he Sirius can finish his story.

Black and Lupin force the rat to become Peter Pettigrew again. When they ask him to confess he says that Sirius did it and he was innocent. Harry didn't know whether or not to believe a man who had been living as Ron's rat or to believe Sirius Black the man who was responsible for the killings of his parents.

Sirius gets Peter to confess and beg for mercy. Lupin and Black are about to kill him but Harry tells them that his father wouldn't have wanted his two best friends to become killers.

Harry talks to Sirius about his friendship with his dad, he tells Harry that his parents made him his Godfather and that in case anything happened he would go and live with him. Harry happily agrees to leave the Durseleys and go live with Sirius.

As the group is walking back to the castle, the moonlight pours down on the courtyard and Professor Lupin begins to turn into a savage werewolf. In the confusion Peter turns back into a rat and runs off. Sirius tells them to go back as fast as they can while he tries to calm down professor Lupin.

A huge mass of demetors arrive and try to perform the kiss on Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but someone conjures a perfect patronus and scared them off. Sirius Black is back in custody and is awaiting the death penalty.
