    I chose Thomas Jefferson as the Chief Diplomat because he executed the Louisiana Purchase.This was a foreign affair because most of the western states of America weren't part of the United States and when Jefferson bought Louisiana it was a big deal for the United States economy.

    Abraham Lincoln- Commander in Chief
    This is a picture of the soldiers in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This was one of the most crucial battles of the civil war. Robert E. Lee led his army straight up into union territory. The union ended up winning this battle. I chose Abraham Lincoln as commander in chief because he was the president during the civil war and that was a very important part of American History.
  • Andrew Johnson- Legislative Leader

    Andrew Johnson- Legislative Leader
    I chose Andrew Johnson as the legislative leader because he vetoed 29 bills during his presidency and 15 of those vetoes were overridden by congress. The most famous bill he vetoed was the Civil Rights Act Bill. This bill was going to grant citizenship to all males no matter what color and the Republician controlled house had a two-thirds vote on this bill and vetoed it. The bill later became a law. He is a legislative leader becaus he vetoed and proposed new bills to congress.

    Benjamin Harrison- Economic Leader
    This is a picture of Benjamin Harrison. He was the twenty-third president of the United States. I chose him as Economic leader because he passed the Mckinley tariff which increased tax rates on foreign goods so people would buy more American made goods. This act was supported by Republicians who supported high tariffs on imported goods. This act had a huge impact on the nation's economy.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt- Party Leader
    I chose Franklin D. Roosevelt as the party leader because he started the new deal coalition which helped revitalize the Democratic party. The New Deal Coalition was made up of interest groups and voting blocks that supported the New Deal and voted for the Democratic candidates. This was organized by Frankiln D. Roosevelt.

    Primary Document- Ford Pardons Nixon This is a picture of Gerald Ford, he was the 38th president of the United States. He pardoned Richard Nixon after he resigned because of the Watergate scandal. I chose him as Chief Executive because one of the Presidential duties is to pardon or free someone from punishment of the law.

    Ronald Reagan State of the Union AddressThis is a picture of Ronald Reagan giving his first State of the Union Address in 1982. His speech lasted 40 minutes and 14 seconds. I chose him for Chief Executive because giving the State of the Union Address is a tradition for Presidents. It lets them address the nation and congress to tell how the United States is doing.

    This is a picture of George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush at the National Christmas tree lighting. The lighting of the National Christmas tree has been a tradition for all of the presidents since 1923 when Calvin Coolidge was president. The lighting of the National Christmas tree is a ceremonial duty that George W. Bush preformed as Head of State.
