    Social - An episode of mass murder and mass rape committed by Japanese troops against the people of Nanjing, an estimated 200,000-300,000 people died

    Dipolomatic - An appeasment by France and Great Britian allowed Hitler more land in which he took to his advantage and took more land without the conset of France and Great Britian

  • Germany invades Poland

    Military - Germany invades Poland, starting World War 2.

    Military - Germans continue bombing Britian but finally give up and refocus their attention to different countries in Europe.

    Military - Over 3 million German troops invade Russia.

    Diplomatic/Military - Japan wanted the United States to accept Japanese domination of the Pacific and in order to do so it it bombed a naval port.

    Military - The United States destroys one of the strongest Japanese fleets.

    Diplomatic/Military events - A successful Soviet defense of the city Stalingrad - considered a major turning point in the war.

  • The United States begins island-hopping

    political - Americans begin their stragedy of island hopping, or liberating one island at a time.

    Military - Allied troops invade German-occupied France and face near certain death on the beaches of Normandy

  • Nuremberg Trials

    Political - During 1945 and 1946 International Military Triubunals tied former Nazi War Criminals, all in all - 22 were charger. Hitler had committed suicide.
