Electronic television was first successfully demonstrated in San Francisco on Sept. 7, 1927. The system was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. This helped people see what was happening in other parts of the world, and eventually led to news channels on TV for people to get their information about what's going on in the world.

First programmable computer, The Z1 was created by German Konrad Zuse between 1936 and 1938. It is considered to be the first electro-mechanical programmable computer, and the first really functional modern computer. The invention of the computer made it possible for people anywhere in the world to share their ideas, and eventually to share pictures, videos and anything they want to online.

In April of 1973, Martin Cooper, a Motorola employee made the first call from a mobile telephone. The invention of the cell phone enabled people to talk to other people without using a landline. As cell phones evolved, people from all around the world could communicate with each other.

The social networking service was launched on February 4, 2004. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommate at Harvard, Eduardo Saverin. Although it was not the intended purpose, Facebook has brought many people together and allowed people to share pictures, updates and anything they want with anyone in the world.

On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs of Apple announced iPhone, and that it would be released later that year, on June 29, 2007. Since then the iPhone has evolved to recognize fingerprints, faces and voices of anyone. the iPhone made it simpler to communicate in any way with anyone in the world, whether it's through texting, calling, FaceTime or social media.
