This most recent stage is the empowerment of the individual made possible, primarily, by NICTs. As a result of NICT, individuals no longer have to live in or travel to America or Europe to participate in educational, cultural, or business relationships. This creates a lot more opportunites for people around the world. -
Egyptian Revolt
When the Egyptian people were tired of their dictator, they tryed to get the word around that there was going to be an organized revolt, but when the government shut down the internet, the Egyptian people used the very few laptops left to use facebook to communicate to the outside world and this proved successful. This showed that a lesser developed country could be involved in globalization.
