Glenn McGarth was born.
Glenn was born in Dubbo, New South Wales, but he grew up in Narrimine. His parents are Beverly and Kevin McGarth. He played a lot of cricket as a child and his potental to be an excellent cricket was spotted by a man named Doug Walters. He latter movied to Sydney to play grade level cricket for a team called Sutherlands. -
Test debut
At the age of 23 Glenn was picked to play for Austrlia agianist New Zeland in Perth. After this test, Glenn became well know as a fast bowler and a guy who could take wickets. He went on to take 563 wickets in his test carrer. He took one wicket in this test and bowled 3 madians. -
ODI debut
Glenn made his ODI debut the same year as his test Debut. His ODI debut came only a few months after his test debut. He played 250 ODI's and he took 381 wcikets. In Glenn's 250 matches he only made 115 runs in total. -
Glenn getting married to Jane
Glenn and Jane first meet each other in a Hong Kong night club called Joe Bannas in 1995. Jane at this time in her life was working as a flight attened for Virgin Atlantic Airways. They feel in love and got Married four years latter and then had 2 children that same year. -
Allan border medal
Glenn was the first person to ever win the Allan border medal. although Glenn only one the medal once, he also won player of the year in 2000 as well. In 2001 he won the ODI ( One Day International) player of the year. -
Retirement
On the 23rd of December 2006, Glenn anonuced that this test againist England in Sydney would be his last. this test was held in January 2007. This ashes test in Sydney was his 5th Ashes test. -
last test of his life
In Glenn's last test of his life aginist England. Australia won the Ashes five-0. Glenn picked up three wickets in the frist innings and three in the second. With batting, he batted once and scored 0 runs but was not out. He did not bat in the second innings. -
last ODI match
Glenn's last ODI was againist Sri Lanka and Autralia won the match by 53 runs but they also won the series. This match that was Glenn's last was also the final. In this match Glenn bowled 7 over and took only one wicket. -
Jane Passed away
At the age of 42 jane Mcgarth who had been fighting breast cancer for 11 years sadly past away on this day. In june of 2008 she became very ill and she sadly lost her life at her home. -
Married for the second time
In 2009, when glenn was on the Indian Premier tour, he met a girl named Sara Leonardi who is an inteor desioner. They get engaged and in the year of 2010 they got married in Gleen's Cronulla home. The next year Glenn sold his massive house for 6 million dollars.
