ryan joins the army in a way to get justice for the lost lifes of 9-11. ay first ryan has to convice his parnets that this is what he is supose to to do. -
Ryan starts Blue Phase
This is the final phase of his journey. It's where he learns humility. -
basic training
When Ryan first started basic training he didnt know all the freedoms he had. By the end he had appericated and not only that he understood them. -
Heather and Ryan get marred
Ryan marries heather before he gets deplyed. I think this shows how Ryan does he's gong to come back -
I'll be back
Ryan gets to leave on a May levae for 2 weeks. It gives him a little taste of what home will be like when he comes home. -
Bazoona
While talking the Iraqi kids one gives him a sort of rabbits foot. This is important because the kids are the future of Iraq, and they determine if the war means anything. Also later on in the story Ryan says that it's the reason he went to war. -
Ryan goes home
This is important because they are finally getting what they wanted. It is also a rare happy moment. -
Jim Conklin's Funeral
This is important because this is the first close death Ryan has experienceed while in Iraq.We get to see the person Ryan, and not the tough soldier Ryan as he sheds some tears that he thinks he doesn't deserve. -
PTSD
This is about when Ryan starts showing signs of PTSD. It's important because it shows the aftermath of being at war. It also show the negative aspects of being in war. -
Ghosts of War
After dealing with his PTSD by himself, Ryan writes down all of his experiences to escape. Creating this book with all the bits and pieces.
