  • The Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles severly cripled the German Empire. It took away all of the Nations oversea colonies and forced them to pay an enormous debt. The Rhine land was also taken away. This caused Germany to face exetremly difficult times.
  • breaking the treaty of Versailles

    Hitler began to break the treaty of Versailles. Nothing was done from the League of Nations. This gave hitler more power knowing that influences like the League of Nations could not stop him.
  • The begining of the Holocaust

    The Germans used the Jewish people as a scapegoat. They created laws such as the Nuremberg laws which where used to maintain Aryan race, this made it so Jews where no longer citizens.
  • Retaking of the Rhineland

    Hitler was ordered to keep the Rhineland a demillitarized zone but brooke this law in the treaty of Versailles. He moved in 32000 troops and re-established millitary prescence. Nobody did anything to stop him.
  • Taking of the Sudentenland

    The Sudentenland was an area of Czechoslovakia in which German people lived. It seemed as though Hitler was going to attempt to take over Czechoslovakia. Fear of an impending war other nations appeased Germany and gave them the Sudentenland without asking for the Czeck's opinion.
  • Annexing of Austria

    The German troops march into Austria and annex it to become part of Nazi-Germany. The Austrian chancellor resigned on march 11th and pleaded that the people did not resist German occupation. Several members of Austrian cabinet believed in Nazi goals.
  • Invasion of Poland

    The Inavasion of poland caused much Havoc. The reason for Germany to do this was their forign policies of expansionism. They planned to expand eastwards.
  • The "Final Solution"

    Hitler began the first killing center for the jewish people. It was called Chelmno. The inhabitants at Chelmno where killed in gas vans.
