Geovanny Valencia was born in 1988, in Sonsón, a cold village of the Antioquia East.
-
His father was a policeman and he died because of war when Geovanny was four years old.

He studied the elementary, middle and high school Sonsón. In the elementary school he was a shy boy, so he was recognized for being a good student and the best soccer player too.

In the elementary school he was shy boy but he was recognized for being a good student and the best soccer player too.
-
From his childhood, Geovanny had always dreamt to become a professional soccer player and his dream has come true in some way because now he is soccer coach, he teaches and researches about sports, especially soccer. He chooses the best university students and he looks for scholarships for them.
-
Six years later, his grandmother died too.
-
He was only fifteen years old and he was a sport leader in his neighborhood due to he used to teach soccer for free. At the beginning, teaching soccer was a little difficult for him because he was too young, he was only a soccer player, not a teacher, and he didn’t know much about how to teach. His first team had bad level to the point they lost the first match with a score of 15-0.

Sonsón was a formidable village and it has extraordinary and friendly people but its development was slow and there weren’t opportunities for studying a career. Geovanny had live in Sonsón until he was eighteen years old and he moved to Rionegro, where he used to play soccer.. Then, he decided to go to the university and he settled in Medellín.
-
When he was studying Physical Education at the university, he taught to a soccer team during two years for free. Over this time, he assisted different activities to improve and to develop his team skills.
-
He was very happy because he won a scholarship for studying a master at the UdeA.
-
Geovanny doesn't only help his students and fellows, he is a man with a very kind heart because every three months, four times a year, he shares food and clothes with the poor people.
-
Geovanny is still a shy person, he doesn’t like big groups but he learned to deal people and situations. Currently, he is training soccer players from the Acolfutpro team –Colombian Association of Professional Soccer Players–. So, his childhood dream hasn’t changed, only the role has changed. In the past, Geovanny wanted to become soccer player and now he teaches people how to achieve it.
-
Geovanny has a lot of projects for his future: he wants to study a PHD abroad, maybe in Germany or the United Kingdom. He is a professional soccer coach today, but he wants to go beyond and he is also planning to become a coach for training a professional soccer club like Atlético Nacional or Deportivo Independiente Medellín.
-
I think Geovanny is passionate for his job and it is clear when he speaks about soccer with enthusiasm and determination and that's the key to getting things working. Despite adversity, he has been an intelligent man and he has demonstrated that achieving dreams and projects depends on the degree of personal discipline and effort. I think he will harvest the fruits of these efforts and I wish him every success with his projects.
