Washington leads a force to victory over British general Charles Cornwallis's forces at Yorktown, Virginia. It was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. This battle is one of the biggests victories for Washington and Americans considered him a great military leader.

Washington died at Mount Vernon. The cause of death was a throat infection. It was believed at that time that he caught the illness while riding in the rain for long periods of time. Medical treatment made matters worse which led to Washingtons death.
