Around 1942, Bush graduated from Phillips Andover Academy. Shortly after he graduated, he enlisted in the navy to become a pilot. -

On September 2nd 1944, on an assault mission to bomb the enemy, Bush's aircraft was shot at by the anti-aircraft systems of the japenese. He was shot down and slimly survived, and was evwentually rescued by a United States submaine. -

George H.W Bush went to and graduated from Yale University in 1948. He was also the captain of the Yale University College Baseball team and was their first basemen. -
