Georg Rauch is born in Salzburg, Austria. His family moves to Vienna, Germany not long after he was born.

Georg Rauch is drafted into Hitler's army when he was only nineteen. He had written in a note to them that he was 25% Jewish but it had seemed that his note was ignored or not cared for.

Georg is sent to the frontlines along with thousands of others on a train. They went towards Russia and as they approached they could hear and feel the rumbling of the fighting going on.

In the midst of war, Georg and another person named Schmitt are told to go look for a repair unit 20 km away from the frontlines. When they get back, they find that out of the thousands of people who came on the train with them, only seven people had survived the attack of the Russians.

When his military troop is attacked once again, he asks for backup on a radio transmitter and saves the lives of many people.

After the brutal attacks that he survived, he and his fellow troops are told to travel to Romania. They traveled to Romania on a plane stacked with more thousands of troops.

Many months later, Georg was enjoying his peaceful life in Romania since the Russians didn't attack them much. One day, the Russians launched an assault on the germans.

While Georg was trying to escape the battle with a fellow infantryman he is captured by the Russians.

Georg was sent to a camp with many other german soldiers and was forced to do physical labour for about a month.

Georg was offered the position as a spy because of his previous knowledge and understanding of the german morse code. He keeps this position until the end of the war.

Georg is sent back to his home in Vienna and reconnects with his family.
