When Temujin was 9 years old his father, Yesugei, was poisoned to death. His father was coming home from a trip when he stopped to eat with a rival clan. The enemy clan realized who he was and poisoned his food. -

In his death in 1227 he had an empire that stretched 3,000 miles and an total area of 3,500,000 square miles. Doing this starting with a small tribe at 17 was no easy tasks. With the help of ally's and his people he was able to dominate all his battles. But this must also mean he was a master war strategist. Countless times he has been outnumbered in army size but he was able to win all those battles. -

To the west of the Mongol empire was a huge empire called Khwarizm. This was the last step for Genghis Khan to become the most powerful ruler ever. The Mongol empire declared war after the enemy killed one of their own traders. From there they marched on from city to city until they reached Samarkand the capital. There it fell in 10 days with 100,000 soldiers defending it. -

This meant that these civilizations would never grow and develop into a modern day country, but be part of the Mongolian empire. Our modern day world could've seen different countries, and some countries would've never existed if it weren't for Genghis Khan
