Although there have been great gains regarding gender equity in education, there is room for improvement. There is much discussion about how to ensure equity for transgender students, females who desire to enter STEM fields, and fairness in regard to athletics. It is vital that gender equity is promoted early in classrooms and socially accepted within our society in an effort to close this discrimination gap.
