  Born on October 2 1869 in the town of Porbander which is now Gujarat.

  At thirteen he married Kasturba.

  He set sail for England to get a degree in law.

  He was called to the bar and Enrolled to the high court of London, sadly later that year he left for India.

  He was spending 20 years in south Africa and on a trip back to India in 1909 he authored a short treatise entitled Hind swaraj or Indian home rule.

  He came home to stay in 1915 and never left India again except a short trip to Europe in 1931.
