During May of 1995, Toren is arrested with MIP at a river party and kicked off the high school junior varsity soccer team with 3.79 GPA.

Toren was cought blacked-out by his parents, and subsequently he was grounded with driving privileges suspended.

In tenth grade, Toren was caught smoking cigarettes on campus and the was kicked off the high school varsity football team.

Toren was arrested drinking with friends, and was later kicked off the high school varsity soccer team.

In eleventh grade, Toren was caught by his parents blacked-out on the day after prom. His parents revoked his driving privileges for the remainder of the spring.

In 12th grade, Toren was caught drunk on campus and kicked off the high school varsity swim team. He lost his team captain position and was suspended for 2 weeks.

Toren graduates high school with a 3.63 GPA.

In the fall of 1998, Toren begins college in San Diego and has three alcohol offenses issued by the university staff. He also makes the dean's list with a 3.6 GPA.

Toren was kicked out of the lower campus dorms and was relocated to the main campus.

Toren spent his summer at home in Olympia working. He was also forced to attend his first AA meetings.

In November of his sophomore year of college, Torn is arrested for public drunkenness in Santa Barbara.
